SMK Muhammadiyah Tumijajar — Basically, English is a means to communicate both in oral and written forms. When students learn English, they can get the advantages in oral and written form such as speak and write in English. Moreover, to communicate means to convey information and understanding it, thoughts, feelings, and to develop science, technology and culture.
One of the extracurricular lessons at SMK MUTU Tubaba, to improve foreign language mastery is the English Club. This extracurricular activity is the first extracurricular activity that will implement starting this semester. The aim of this program is to hone English language skills and provide alternative learning for students in exploring and developing their English language skills.
Education is an indicator of the advancement of the nation. Education is emphasized on the ability of students to apply the knowledge gained. For that, we need provisions and skills, one of which is the use of English. Currently, the development of the times is increasingly competitive, the ability to speak English which is an international language is the main requirement that must be met to get a job, especially in an era of globalization nowdays.
“ English Club is an extracurricular activity that focuses on learning English. It is not a compulsory extracurricular activity, so students who want to learn more in English can join here,” said the English teacher of SMK MUTU Tubaba, Ayu Silvia Rosa, S. Pd. . Thursday (22/10/2020). According to her, currently, English is considered very important, especially in this 4.0 modern era. All knowledge will be much better if supported by English.
She hopes that, the English Club in this school can be truly beneficial for all students who attend her. In accordance with the English Clubs Motto “ Keep Trying, be Confident to be the Winner ." She said.
Meanwhile, Mr. Syamsul Hidayat, S. Pd. I as the principal of SMK MUTU Tubaba stated that “I really appreciate the commencement of this extracurricular activity, with the hope that through the English Club, national level achievement students can be born who boast Tumijajar in particular and Lampung in general. And she also reminded that in this era of 4.0 it is very important for people to be able to communicate with English ." Said the principal of SMK MUTI Tubaba, Syamsul Hidayat, S. Pd.I. (asr/adr)
